GERF achievements

Mangrove restoration at Mdimini village Mkuranga- GERF with collaborative efforts from HUDEFO managed to restore mangrove at Mdimini village Mkuranga DC, with local communities’ awareness on mangroves forest importance and mangroves restoration practices and provide training to local communities on how mangroves are important in regulating climate.

Bagamoyo fish market cleaning and handing over sanitation and cleaning equipment’s- GERF with joint efforts from other organization participated in Bagamoyo fish market and provide environmental awareness training to the local communities and provide them with cleaning and sanitation equipment’s.

Community empowerment, awareness and capacity building on the importance and management of forest- GERF engaged in community empowerment, awareness and capacity building on the importance and management of forest at Mwidu village and benefits of the station at Mwidu village and the campaign to plant trees and restore the natural forest.

Equipping Mkenge Primary School with Clean water Tank and Fruit trees planting- GERF in collaboration with Kemmon Schools provided environmental awareness education and built clean water tank for the students. This project involved fruit trees planting.

World cleanup day 2022- GERF is active participant of world cleanup day and in 2022 jointly with Nipe fagio organization managed to work on Ocean and Island cleanup at Sinda Island and Rongoni beach. The project engaged local communities to clean the ocean environment and plastic waste awareness.

Coco beach boys training on environmental conservation- As part of community outreach program GERF provided Coco beach boys group with beach cleaning equipment’s and train on how to handle beach waste and safety to the beach goers.
