To improve access to clean water, GERF supported Mkenge Primary School by installing 2 water tanks both 2000 liters each. The school is located 2 kilometres from the nearest water catchment area, making it difficult for students to access safe water. These tanks now provide a reliable and healthy water source for over 400 students, helping to improve their hygiene, health and overall learning environment.
GERF also plays an active role in addressing the causes and impacts of climate change especially those that lead to water scarcity in rural and urban areas. Through our initiatives, we aim to build climate resilience, raise awareness and ensure that water remains available and clean for future generations.
