GERF proudly participated in the Tanzania Green Summit 2026, held under the theme “Turning Climate Action Into Opportunity.” The two-day summit brought together government representatives, investors,youth, innovators, development partners and environmental organisations to share ideas and explore practicle solutins to climate and environmental challenges.
For GERF, the summit was an opportunity to showcase our work in ecological restoration, environmental education and community engagement while connecting with potential partners and exploring new opportunities for collaboration.
What We Learned
The summit provided valuable insights into the importance of turning environmental ideas into practical, scalable solutions. We learned that strong partnerships, innovation, access to investment and meaningful community participation are essential for transforming climate initiatives into lasting impacts.
We also gained a deeperunderstanding of the opportunities within Tanzani's growing green economy, particularly the role of young people in developing innovation solutions and creating sustainable livelihoods.
Most importantly, the summit reminded us that climate action is not only about addressing environmental challenges; it caalso create opportunities for investement,innovation,employment and community development.
